The Tao of the Ocean

Breathing practices for well-being, emotions and stress management, and performance

The Tao of the Ocean is a way to consider the sea, and water particularly, as a teacher - one that invites us to letting go in complete presence and without intention, to observe through an unusual prism and deepen our inner and outer perceptions, and to un-veil our aquatic abilities: gentleness, fluidity, fulfilment, dissolution.

And to do so using the wonderful tool of connection with ourselves, others and the world that is breathing.

Breathing

A natural movement that brings together inner and outer worlds, individuality and universality, breathing opens a direct portal to the physical, nervous and emotional systems.

On a physical level, its benefits include:

- soothing of chronic pain;
- improving the functioning of the nervous system, hormonal system and metabolism (digestion, sleep, etc.);
- improving physical and athletic performance;
- improving posture.

On an internal level, it allows us to:

- better live our emotions and manage stress;
- better inhabit the present moment;
- improve our ability to relax and let go;
- promote introspection;
- improve mental performance (observation, reflection, and concentration).

The intention is to instil awareness into an automatic, unconscious movement, and then to liberate that movement rather than educate it – to strive to release one's body in attentiveness and presence.
